Scholarship are offered to deserving and needy Students to encourage them to take up Higher Education. This incentive falls in line with the motto of Higher Education of the State, Access, Equity and Quality. Generation makes Nation. Therefore the Government of India and Government of Haryana are always putting their efforts to attract to attract the Students towards Higher Education. Many Scholarship, Incentive and Stipend schemes are introduced by the Government of India and Government of Haryana to achieve the Goal. A brief note regarding such scheme are given below.
Haryana State Meritorious Incentive Scholarship
This Scheme will be specific for Top Meritorious Students (One Boy & One Girl Student) who stood first in 10th & 12th annual CBSE Exams.
The Award will be given only to those students who shall pursue their studies as a regular student, the amount of Incentive shall be equal to their School / College fee paid by them annually till the completion of their degrees up to Graduation Level.
Criteria / Mode of Selection -
For 10th Class Toppers (One Boy & One Girl) at State Level - In order to determine the Top position applications will be called from students through Head of the Institution who got 92% Marks or more in English, Science and Technology, Mathematics, Social Sciences and best one of the remaining subject after the declaration of Result of CBSE annual exam every year.
For 12th Class Toppers (One Boy & One Girl) at State Level - The Top position application will be called from students through Head of the Institution who got 90% Marks and above in English and best four of the remaining Subject in Science (Medical & Non-Medical), Commerce and humanities after the declaration of results of CBSE annual exam every year. The Students studying in Vocational Courses shall not be eligible.
Amount for Scholarship -
For 10th Class - This amount shall not exceeding more than 25000/- in a year up to 10+2 per topper and not more than Rs. 01 Lac per year per topper up to degree / graduation level in any stream.
For 12th Class - The amount of Incentive shall be equal to the fees paid by them to the institution annually but not exceeding Rs. 01 Lac in a year per topper.
The objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to poor and meritorious students belonging to minority communities to enable to pursue Professional and Technical Courses.
Under this scheme 257 students belonging to Minority Communities of Haryana, who get admission in Technical / Professional Course and where parents / Guardian annual Income is not exceeding Rs. 2.50 lakh are given scholarship.
Scheme of Government of Haryana for Merit Scholarship to Under Graduate Girls Students
This Scholarship will be given to the girl students who after passing Higher Secondary (10+2) class with at least 60% Marks are studying in any Govt. College.
Value of Scholarship -
No. of fresh Scholarship to be awerded are for Ten Girl Students per College.
The Value of the Scholarship awarded will be Rs. 3000/- per student per annum.
The Scholarship are tenable for pursuing general academic course in the Govt. Colleges only.
Consolidated Stipend Scholarship
The schemes is proposed to attract the SC towards higher Education. The scheme will be implemented in all Govt. Colleges of Haryana. The Students will be disbursed stipend bi-monthly on the basis of at least 60% attendance in the Classes.
Photocopy of SC Certificate, Photocopy of Haryana Domicile certificate, Photocopy of previous examination passed on the basis of which he / she sought admission in the present class.
The Students who failed in the year university examination will not be eligible for the stipend.
Haryana State (Meritorious Incentive Scheme) Scholarship
The objective of the scheme is to encourage the meritorious students studying in the Government Colleges of the State by giving a substantial amount to them as a motivating incentive. Under the scheme the Male students (General category) Female students (General Category) and SC Students (both male & female).
This scheme will be college-specific and for three meritorious students in each stream who stood first, second and third in the annual university examination will be given this incentive.
The Merit List will be prepaid separately for the Boys (UR), Girls (UR) and SC Students (Combined list of girls and boys).
Value of Incentive -
The incentive will be awarded separately for each stream Such as, Arts, Commerce, science (Medical / Non-Medical) and Education. the students who stands first in the merit will be given Rs. 5000/- p.a, second Rs. 3000/- p.a and the Student who stands third in the Merit will be given Rs. 2000/- p.a.
Lower Income Group Scholarship
The Object of the scheme is to provide Financial assistance to Lower Income Group as to enable them to complete their Education. These scholarship are available for studies in India only and are awarded by the Govt. of Haryana State to which the applicant actually belongs, i.e. permanently settled.
The scholarship are open to Nationals of India only.
The Candidate who after passing one stage of education are studying in the same stage of education in the same stage of education in a different subject, Such as, I SC. Jr. after IA.Jr or B.Com after B.A or M.A in one subject after M.A in another subject will not be eligible.
The Scholarship are tenable for pursuing recognized courses in the recognized institutions only.
Post Matric Scholarship for Welfare of Backward Classes
The Government of India has since independence initiated a number of steps for improving the level of literacy and education. Based on the recommendations of the Working Group on Development and Welfare of Backward Classes, it is proposed to lunch a new Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Post Matric Scholarship for Others Backward Classes (OBC) Students.
These scholarships will be given for the study of all recognized post Matriculation or Post Secondary Course pursued in recognized institutions.
The Candidate who after passing one stage of education are studying in the same stage of education in education different subject e.g I.SC after I.A or B.Com, after B.A or M.A in a subject after M.A in another subject will not be eligible.
Post Matric Scholarship for Student belonging to the Minority Communities
The objective of this scheme is to award Scholarship to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of the Minority Communities, so as to provide better opportunity for Higher Education and enhance their employbility. The Scholarship is awarded to the concerned students for studies in India in a Govt. or Private Higher Secondary School / College / University.
The Scholarship is awarded to the students securing 50% or above Marks in previous final examination and whose parents / Guardian's income does not exceed 2 lacs. 30& of the scholarships are earmarked for girls students.
Rate of Scholarship -
AT UG / PG level (for Course other than technical and professional) Rs. 300/- p.m (Day scholar) and Rs. 570/- for Hostlers.
Post Matric Scholarship to the Students belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe
The Object scholarship are available for studies in India only and are awarded by the Government of State / Union Territory to which the applicant actually belongs.
These Scholarship will be given for the study of all recognized Post-Matriculation for Post-Secondary courses pursed in recognized institutions.
The Candidate who after passing one stage of education are studying in the same stage of education in different subject eg. I.Sc after I.A or B.com after B.A or M.A in other subject will not be eligible.
The Students pursuing Post-Graduate Courses in Medicine will be eligible if they are not allowed to practice during.
It is mentioned under the item III (condition of eligibility) of these regulations that the Scholarship will be given for the study of all recognized Post-Matriculation or Post-Secondary Courses pursed in recognized institutions, the list of courses grouped (I to IV) is only illustrative institutions.
Income for Scholarship -
The Scholarship will be paid to the students whose Parents / Guardian income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 100000/- per annum.
Providing Books to SC (Schedule Caste) Students of Govt. Colleges (This Scheme is Part with Consolidated Stipend Scheme)
The Student should belong to S.C (Schedule Caste) Category of Haryana Domicile. He should be a regular student of the institution.
Estimated Expenditure -
Expected number of enrolled Schedule Caste students for the year is - 28000. Average cost of 1 set of Test Books Rs. 2000/- (Approximately).
Haryana State Merit Scholarship Scheme
These Merit-cum-poverty Scholarship which shall be known as Govt. Merit Scholarship in Colleges for General University Education.
The Students whose parents / guardians are the citizens of India and are domiciled in Haryana State.
The Students who pass the specified Public Examination from the Punjab or Kurukshetra University or any other examining body, otherwise notified by the awarding authority
Value of Scholarship -
For Post Matric Course - Matriculation (Class 10th) Student for Rs. 50/- (Fifty Rupees only) or Higher Secondary (10+2) Students for Rs. 100/- (One Hundred Rupees).
For Post Graduate Course - B.A / B.Sc / B.Com Students for Rs. 150/- (One Hundred Fifty Rupees) & M.A / M.Sc / M.Com Students for Rs. 300/- (Three Hundred Rupees only).
Stipend Scheme for Grand Children of Freedom Fighters Pursuing Higher Education in Govt. / Non.Govt. Aided Colleges of Haryana
To honour the grand children (3rd Generation) of Freedom fighters, Honorable CM has desired that a scheme may be introduced. Therefore for honouring grand children of freedom fighters the Department has proposed that the scholarship equivalent to the Scholarship admissible to the children belonging to Schedule Caste families may also be given to the grand Children (3rd generation) of freedom fighters.
